My approach to counselling integrates a variety of therapeutic styles and techniques, allowing me to tailor the process to suit each individual. The central focus of my approach is on the healing relationship between the therapist and client based on empathy, respect, and trust. My overall goal is to facilitate a process of self-exploration and understanding in a setting that is best suited for each client, be it indoors, outdoors or online.

The Process

In our first appointment we will meet to discuss your needs and also to answer any questions you might have about the practice. You will be asked to talk about yourself and your life history. We will then be able to decide on how we can proceed and in which way I might be able to help. We will review the process after six or eight appointments and decide if and how we can proceed further into long term counselling. Counselling can feel challenging at the start, but as we progress you might begin to understand how issues relate to the past or to a deeper concern.

The more we understand about ourselves, the more we develop compassion for the self and others. All consultations are confidential and bound by professional codes of conduct and ethics. If you decide at any time that counselling is not for you, I maybe able to help you find a different solution elsewhere.
